Every now and again a beauty of a goal is score in the NHL. Viktor Stalberg just put one of those very goals up on the board for the New York Rangers.

The folks at Madison Square Garden were starting to feel a little uneasy watching their beloved Blueshirts still knotted up at one goal apiece with the very lackluster Buffalo Sabres.

Despite owning most of the play, the New York Rangers just couldn’t strike for that second goal. That was until Viktor Stalberg came up with a beauty towards the late stages of the second period.

After Kevin Hayes was unable to get good wood on the puck, Stalberg found it and put it past goalie Chad Johnon in five-hole style (video above). He did this while his body swung wildly out of control.

The Rangers continue to hold a slim 2-1 lead over the Sabres during the second intermission.
