New York Knicks forward Cleanthony Early was robbed and shot in the leg early this morning outside of a strip club.

Cleanthony Early has been between the New York Knicks‘ D-League squad in Westchester and the main team all season long, thus he has made very little news if any at all.

Early this morning that changed in the worst way, per the New York Daily News.

Early was leaving a Queens strip club early this morning when he was robbed and shot in the right knee. He is currently in stable condition and the injury doesn’t appear to be life-threatening. According to the report, Early was robbed of his items and his jewelry while leaving the club in an uber. The incident occured at 4:15 a.m.

This comes just a little over a week after Early’s Knicks’ teammate Derrick Williams was robbed of $750,000 worth of jewelry from his Broadway apartment by two women that he brought home from a nightclub. Like Early, Williams’ incident occurred late at night.

According to Larry Celona and Joe Tacopino of the New York Post, Williams was flashing jewelry on Instagram, and according to the Daily News Early was wearing gold teeth and a gold necklace to the strip club. It would be fairly easy to spot that both men had money. Not that it’s an excuse to get robbed of course, and certainly not shot but hopefully Cleanthony is more careful the next time he is out at 4:15 in the morning.

We wish him a speedy recovery and hope that he is back on the bench with his team soon.
