With the Anaheim Ducks at Madison Square Garden tonight the New York Rangers got their chance to showcase a quick tribute for Carl Hagelin.

Nobody does it better than Madison Square Garden. When there’s an event to be had, or a cause that needs attention, The Garden is there with full support. This is especially the case when a player needs to be recognized. Even if it’s a guy who spent just a few seasons in town. Although speedy winger Carl Hagelin will never go down in history as one of the best New York Rangers in history, that didn’t stop the Blueshirts and MSG from recognizing him during one of the stoppages early on in the game (video above).

He was a fan favorite and an unfortunate cap-casualty trade.

As far as the game is concerned the two teams are tied at two heading into overtime.
