The Isles got on the board first.1isles21 167x200 - New York Islanders Take Game 3 On Tavares Game-Winner Kyle Okposo tipped one in on a beautiful play by Lubomir Visnovsky at the 12:37 mark of the second period. The Isles played fantastic defensive hockey from that point forward. That was, until, the middle of the third when the Capitals started making their push. Chance after chance was thrown at Jaroslav Halak. Finally, they were able to cash in thanks to Nicklas Backstrom with just over six minutes to go in regulation. We headed to overtime. Captain John Tavares slipped a shot off a loose puck past Braden Holtby only 15-seconds into the extra frame.

The Isles now lead the best of seven series two games to one.
