Just a few hours before the clock struck twelve last night, New York Mets prospect Logan Taylor was attacked by a homeless man with a tire Iron.

Luckily, the 25-year-old pitcher for the Las Vegas 51s of Triple-A is recovering, and even tweeted out his appreciation of all those who tried to reach out to him.

The attack was in Salt Lake City, where the 51s were in the midst of a series against the hometown Bees.

It has been reported that the name of the offender is Joshua Cruz, who prior to the attack, was demanding that Logan Taylor gave him his wallet.

Taylor’s Manager Pedro Lopez said the pitcher required seven staples order to close the wound in his head.

Taylor was having a serviceable season prior to the injury, posting a 3.96 ERA across 20 appearances for the 51s.

In response to the injury, Taylor has been played on the seven-day DL.
