It only took a sixth inning foul ball to get the New York Yankees radio booth of John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman to stop talking.

“Jawhn ya gotta make that play”, joked David Cone of the YES Network.

A foul ball off the bat of Adrian Beltre in the sixth inning of Thursday’s game made its way into the WFAN radio broadcast booth, dismantling John Sterling’s microphone in the midst of his play-by-play.

While Sterling scrambled to find the mic that had just fell off the stand and out of his sight, color commentator Suzyn Waldman got up to find the ball in the booth creating quite the scene for the YES telecast to display.

Sterling located his mic and appeared to start describing the situation as Waldman heaved the ball to a young fan sitting in the section below.

As the longtime voice of the Yankees would say, “Well, that’s baseball Suzyn.”
