Since the MLB implemented Statcast technology, no one has hit a ball further than Giancarlo Stanton did tonight at Coors Field.

Sure, Coors Field is a “hitter’s ballpark.” Yes, the ball carries tremendously with the altitude in Denver.

However, that does not take anything away from what Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton just accomplished. Facing right-hander Chad Bettis, the 26-year-old, who has hit some tape-measure shots in the past, broke a Statcast record with an absolute bomb to left-center field.

The ball landed 504 feet from home plate, edging Kris Bryant’s 495-foot Wrigley Field round-tripper from a year ago. Yes, 504 feet.

For any major league baseball fan, a home run over 500 feet seems downright magical and simply inhumane.

Well, Stanton has defied many odds with some of his more tremendous jacks in his young career. Now he just adds to an already impressive profile.
