Former Yankee Alex Rodriguez opens up on Dick Stockton’s new podcast
On Hall of Fame sportscaster Dick Stockton’s new podcast, former New York Yankees’ slugger Alex Rodriguez discusses his controversial career.

In the first installment, A-Rod opens up about many topics including his 2014 suspension for his role in the biogenesis doping scandal.
“It took me four months to build up the courage to tell my daughters [Natasha and Ella] about my mistakes,” Rodriguez says in the podcast’s first episode. “Looking back, the suspension [from baseball for the 2014 season] was a pivotal turning point in my life.”
Rodriguez, who played for the Yankees from 2004-2016, had tested positive for testosterone and Primobolan in 2003 and has reportedly used performance-enhancing drugs as early as high school.

“You don’t need to be defined by your mistakes; it’s how you handle them,” added A-Rod. “I feel like I’m still rounding first base.”
Rodriguez is third on the all-time home runs list with 696, has collected 3,114 hits and is one of just three players in the history of baseball to record more than 2,000 RBIs. [sc name=”Yankees Fanatics Right” ]
While that screams “first ballot Hall of Famer,” his use of PED’s will make his path to Cooperstown rather bumpy.
“I would be lying to you if I said that it didn’t mean a lot [to be in the Hall of Fame],” Rodriguez said in the podcast.
Rodriguez was unconditionally released after playing in his final game with the Yankees last Aug. 12. He will make $21 million in 2017 but instead of marching towards 700 homers, will serve as an adviser and consultant.
The 41-year old also discusses his legacy in the game, his experience as a sports commentator on FOX Sports and who he admires today in Major League Baseball.
“Stockton!” will debut on Tuesday, February 14, one day after the Yankees’ pitchers and catchers report to George M. Steinbrenner Field.
