New York Jets head coach Adam Gase calls Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton a “dangerous guy” ahead of Sunday’s Week 13 matchup.

The New York Jets are one of the hottest teams in the NFL at the moment. They’re riding a three-game win streak and have a chance to extend it this Sunday afternoon.

Gang Green faces the Cincinnati Bengals, who’ve yet to win a game this season.

However, the Bengals may have some extra firepower, being that they’re returning their longtime quarterback Andy Dalton to the starting lineup. Head coach Zac Taylor decided to bench Dalton after the team started out 0-8.

Backup quarterback Ryan Finley didn’t provide one bit of a spark in the three games he started in. Thus, Dalton is back to taking the first-team snaps, as Jets head coach Adam Gase knows his defense will have a tough task on their hands.

“He’s a dangerous guy, period. I mean that’s just what it is,” Gase said this week, referring to Dalton. “It’s not always easy when your quarterback has been playing in the same organization for a long time under the same head coach and all of a sudden everything changes. It’s not always as smooth as you want it to be.

“I know everyone always wants to pile on the quarterback, but Andy’s been a good player in this league for a while. They went to the playoffs a lot of times with him.”

Dalton, now in his ninth season, spent his first eight years playing under head coach Marvin Lewis. He’s currently getting used to a new system, despite if the organization has switched from a defensive head coach to an offensive head coach.

Through his first eight starts, Dalton completed 60.4% of his throws for 2,252 yards, nine touchdowns, and eight picks. It’ll be interesting to see if he’ll have a chip on his shoulder heading into this game, as the Bengals attempt to avoid a winless 2019 campaign.

The Jets will kick-off on the road against the Bengals this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
