Sam Darnold was literally perfect on the New York Jets’ opening Sunday drive, capping it off with his second career rushing touchdown.

The New York Jets might have to be literally perfect to pick up another win this season. Sam Darnold acquiesced on the team’s opening possession on Sunday.

Facing their MetLife Stadium brethren, Darnold helped the Jets secure early bragging rights by engineering a 13-play, 75-yard drive that gave the Jets a 7-0 lead against the New York Giants.

Darnold himself capped off the mastery with a two-yard run on a read-option behind the guard for the early lead. It’s the second rushing touchdown of Darnold’s NFL career.

The Jets kept their good vibes going when the Giants got the ball. Jamal Adams broke into the backfield on third down and sacked Daniel Jones for a big loss.

He also forced a fumble that the Giants recovered, but the lower case NY-branded team was forced into a punt.

On the team’s next drive, Darnold found Jamison Crowder for a score.

The Jets currently lead 14-7 with a little over nine minutes remaining in the second quarter.
