New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley might have more to his injury problems than just the groin injury that sidelined him for four games.

The New York Jets finally got their newly-acquired linebacker C.J. Mosley back on the game field on Monday night. Mosley had been dealing with a groin injury that kept him out since Week 1. However, he didn’t make much of a difference, as the Jets fell to the undefeated New England Patriots by a blowout score of 33-0.

On Wednesday, Mosley wasn’t seen practicing with the team, putting the idea into many people’s heads that the groin is still giving him issues. But according to head coach Adam Gase, it may not just be the groin, as it could be even more than that.

“Doctors are doing a really deep dive just trying to figure out where things are coming from,” Gase said, per SNY. “Might just be more than the groin. We’re just trying to figure all that stuff out.

“I didn’t ask too many questions. I’m just waiting for them to give me a final answer.”

Mosley was a key contributor in the team’s Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Despite the defeat, the Gang Green defense only allowed 17 points to the Buffalo offense. The defensive efforts included a pick-six from Mosley in the first quarter. The former Baltimore Raven also racked up six combined tackles in that game with two passes defended and a recovered fumble.

In the recent loss to New England, Mosley combined for just three tackles.
