New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold has officially been cleared to return for Week 6 action when the Dallas Cowboys invade MetLife Stadium.

The kid is officially back.

New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold will make his NFL return in Week 6 action when the Dallas Cowboys invade MetLife Stadium.

On Monday, Adam Gase stated Darnold would, indeed, start if given medical clearance on Tuesday, and that’s exactly what happened. Doctors cleared No. 14, believing his spleen is ready to take a hit.

Darnold’s only game action this season came in Week 1’s 17-16 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Darnold finished 28-of-41 for 175 yards and a touchdown.

The winless (0-4) New York Jets look to snap the season-opening four-game losing streak with their young gunslinger at the helm this Sunday afternoon.
