New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson is looking to improve his three-point game heading into the 2019-20 season.

The New York Knicks have a ton of new faces on their roster for this upcoming season. They missed out on multiple big-name free agents. Thus, they signed numerous veterans to short-term deals, such as Julius Randle, Reggie Bullock, Marcus Morris, and Elfrid Payton.

However, one of the familiar faces on the roster could end up being a large part of any success they may find. Center Mitchell Robinson is entering his sophomore campaign with the team and proved that he could be a productive body this past Summer. Through five games in the NBA Summer League, Robinson averaged 13.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks. Heading into this season, the 21-year-old is looking to become more versatile.

That’s why he’s adding a three-point shot to his arsenal.

“Why work on something you’re not going to use,” Robinson said on his shot from behind the arc, per Ian Begley of SNY. “I’m looking forward to it.”

“I’m shooting the thing now,” he added.

The Knicks are looking to mightily improve after their worst finish in franchise history last season. New York ended up with a 17-65 record, which was the worst record in the entire league.

However, that finish didn’t award them the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Thus, they missed out on Duke product Zion Williamson but were able to select RJ Barrett.

The Knicks open up their preseason slate against the Washington Wizards on the road next Monday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
