New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley is still trying to improve and help the team even during the rehab process for his groin injury.

This year hasn’t been what C.J. Mosley was hoping for thus far. The New York Jets linebacker has been out since Week 1 with a nagging groin injury, one that could even keep him out this coming Sunday.

He’s not ready to return to practice just yet. However, Mosley is still doing what he can to improve and help out the team moving forward. After all, when a team starts 0-3, they could use all the help they can get.

“You just have to stay with the program and pay attention like I’m playing every week, and that’s what I’ve been doing out there as far as taking notes and watching film,” Mosley said, per Olivia Landis of the Jets official website. “I’m watching our practices while I get treatment, so every day I try my best to keep the guys going too, because I’m still a leader whether I’m on or off the field. I just need to make sure that I take care of myself and still prepare like I’m getting ready to play.”

“As far as the defense, I’m just making sure the guys stay focused,” he added.

Mosley racked up six combined tackles and a pick-six in the team’s Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills. It’s unclear when he’ll be cleared to practice and play. Regardless of when it is, the Jets defense will desperately need him back on the field.
