The NFL caught up with Henry Anderson of the New York Jets after the defensive end delivered a cheap shot to Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Henry Anderson‘s wallet is about to be a bit lighter. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the defensive lineman was fined $140,527 for a late hit on Josh Allen in Week 1. The New York Jets defensive end delivered two questionable hits to Allen on Sunday.

The Bills have accused Anderson of delivering cheap shots in the past. Anderson laid out kicker Stephen Hauschka after a blocked field goal last season.

This isn’t a great look for Anderson or the Jets, especially given the recent allegations from Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. about defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.

The wide receiver accused Williams of encouraging his players to deliver dirty hits on Beckham during a preseason game when he was with the New York Giants. Williams is well-known for his prominent role in the New Orleans Saints’ “BountyGate.”

Following the 2012 incident, the defensive strategist was indefinitely suspended by the league.

He returned to the coaching ranks in 2013 with the Tennessee Titans. Williams bounced around the league before landing with the Jets this season.

The Jets are entering Monday night’s game with the Browns with plenty of adversity. Mononucleosis will cause quarterback Sam Darnold to miss multiple weeks. Meanwhile, Quincy Enunwa‘s neck injuries will end his season prematurely.

New York runs the risk of dropping to 0-2 on the season before a Week 3 matchup against the New England Patriots. Jets fans are hoping that Gregg Williams’ defense starts garnering attention for being one of the best defenses in the league, not one of the dirtiest.
