New York Jets newest acquisition, safety Matthias Farley, is absolutely hyped to be headed east, as evidenced by a recent social media video.
The man is absolutely hyped.
Shortly after he made it official with the New York Jets, safety Matthias Farley showcased that hype with a social media video (above).
On Friday, with players flying all over the place due to the rough world of big-boy NFL transactions, the Jets signed Farley shortly after he was waived by the Indianapolis Colts.
The 5-foot-11, 204-pound safety is a three-year veteran who started 15 games for the Colts in 2017. The undrafted Notre Dame product originally signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2016, but never played a down in the desert.
In 2017, Farley tallied 95 tackles (four for loss), two interceptions and nine passes defended. Considering his experience in the league and the timing of the transaction, he feels destined as the third or fourth safety on the team (depending on whether or not he leapfrogs Rontez Miles on the depth chart).
He’s played strong safety in the league, meaning he comes in as the Jamal Adams backup while Miles continues as the No. 2 centerfielder.
A year ago, Farley dressed for only five games, starting just one. He mustered 19 total tackles and a pick for the Colts in his final season in Indy.
Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Matthias Farley has already made it known he puts his stamp of approval on the already done-deal and allowed Jay-Z to help him make it obvious.
The New York Jets have plenty of work to do in order to get down to 53 players by Sunday.
