Le’Veon Bell, Sam Darnold, and Adam Gase are all looking to create something special with the New York Jets this year.
There are plenty of new faces in Florham Park, New Jersey this year. However, Le’Veon Bell was the marquee signing this offseason for the New York Jets.
The All-Pro running back is stoked to play with a talented young quarterback like Sam Darnold and an offensive “mastermind” in head coach Adam Gase.

“The more and more (Darnold) plays, each rep he plays, he gets better,” Bell told reporters. “You can literally see the growth in him each and every day so I’m excited to play with him. I can’t wait to get on the field.”
Darnold is one of the best young quarterbacks in the game right now. In fact, Darnold was the highest-rated quarterback in the entire NFL over the last three weeks of the 2018 season according to Pro Football Focus.
“Coach Gase, he just loves football,” Bell said of his new coach. “You can tell he likes going out there and really dictating the defense and making guys do what they don’t want to do. He’s a mastermind on offense. I’m excited to play with him.”
Gase is a football guy. There’s no doubt about it. Let that man put on his Jets cap and stick his nose in the playbook. He’s not known as a media-savvy guy. But so long as he’s winning, that won’t matter.
Gase wasn’t very successful in his three years with the Miami Dolphins. He compiled a record of 23-25 and failed to win a playoff game during that span.
That being said, Gase is regarded as a talented offensive mind who can bring out the best in young Darnold. Perhaps his stint with the Jets will go better than his time in Miami. With Bell, Darnold, and an underrated group of wide receivers, there’s some hope for Gang Green’s offense moving forward.
