Le’Veon Bell was absent from OTAs. But after arriving at New York Jets minicamp, he could not be more excited.

The most high-profile free agent signing of the summer is finally wearing his No. 26 jersey for the first time. Le’Veon Bell took control of the New York Jets Twitter account to announce his presence at minicamp.

Bell sounds exactly like most Jets fans when they found out he was signing with Gang Green. There’s no doubt that Bell is one of the most talented offensive players in the NFL.

However, his absence from offseason OTAs raised some eyebrows among fans and the media alike. Was this going to be the same Bell that was a headache in Pittsburgh? At the time, Bell downplayed the issue and his head coach, Adam Gase, had his back.

Now that Bell is in the building, the only thing that matters is winning football games. If the Jets can manage to stay competitive in 2019 and potentially challenge for a playoff spot, everyone will forget about the offseason drama.

The fact of the matter is, Bell and his teammates have a lot to be excited about. Sam Darnold‘s end to the 2018 season could be a sign of things to come. Fans are hoping the second-year quarterback can take a leap forward during his sophomore campaign.

Although former general manager Mike Maccagnan spent another offseason neglecting the offensive line, he provided Darnold with a major safety valve in Bell. He’s the type of do-it-all back who can help Darnold wriggle out of sticky situations.

Jets fans should be just as excited as Bell to see an All-Pro offensive weapon at Darnold’s disposal this year.
