Former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has incredibly high hopes for the new and improved Gang Green.

The New York Jets have a brutal schedule to open the season. But that’s not stopping former Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez from predicting big things.

Sanchez starts off by predicting the Jets to win their first two games of the season against the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns. A Week 3 loss to the New England Patriots seemed to bring things back down to Earth.

However, Sanchez then predicted seven straight wins and an eventual 13-3 record. That would be the best record for any team in franchise history.

It’s always difficult to predict wins this far in advance. The NFL can change dramatically from week to week. That being said, Jets fans should hope that Sanchez knows something we don’t because the roster doesn’t look like that of a 13-3 team.

Of course, the additions of Le’Veon Bell, Quinnen Williams, C.J. Mosley, and Jamison Crowder should add serious firepower to key areas. However, the Jets still have serious questions on the offensive and defensive lines.

General manager Mike Maccagnan has always neglected the offensive line. Although he made key additions with Kelechi Osemele and Chuma Edoga, it still doesn’t look like enough. Moreover, the addition of Quinnen Williams adds talent to the defense, but Williams joins a strong group of defensive tackles.

With all this said, the Jets have the potential to surprise everyone and make a push for the playoffs. If the offensive line exceeds expectations and Sam Darnold takes a leap forward, the offense should be just fine. On the defensive side of the ball, third-round pick Jachai Polite comes to the Jets with character questions, but brings immense talent and upside.

Mark Sanchez’s prediction of 13 wins is probably crazy, but every Jets fan will hope he’s somehow right.
