Le’Veon Bell is looking towards the future after signing a long-term deal with the New York Jets. The stud running back has no regrets.

Le’Veon Bell is the toast of New York. During a ridiculous week of New York sports, Bell’s signing with the New York Jets stood out as a high point.

Jets fans have been waiting for a quarterback forever. Sam Darnold is undoubtedly the franchise quarterback and Bell is the skill position player that can dominate with him.

Bell’s tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers ended dubiously. Bell sat out the entire 2018 season despite the fact that his franchise tag would have paid more than what he’s making in his first year with the Jets. But the running back says security matters as much as the money.

“I don’t regret anything that had happened,” Bell said on the conference call per Rich Cimini of ESPN. “Everything’s happened for a reason. Who can say that if I played last year, you know, if I do go out and play last year on a one-year franchise tag, if I do get hurt, do I end up sitting in this position today, being with the New York Jets on a beautiful deal?”

Bell might not be making the money he expected, but he is well paid and entering the season with a gigantic chip on his shoulder. After sitting out the 2018 season, many will question his toughness and desire to play.

Despite the red flags, Jets fans should be thrilled with the Bell signing. He’s a do-it-all back who will bring out the best from Darnold. The front office still has to address a few issues—namely the offensive line—but there’s reason for Jets fans to be excited.
