New York Jets offensive linemen might end up on the naughty list next year after some apparent displeasure with gifts from their quarterback.

Much like Quincy Enunwa, Sam Darnold won’t be leaving the New York Jets’ practice facility any time soon. His case, however, may be a bit more literal.

In a video shared by safety Jamal Adams, Darnold is in for a surprise when he decides to head home from Atlantic Health Jets Training Center Friday. Complete with narration from Adams, Darnold’s car is showcased sans tires, much to the defender’s pleasure. His accompanying caption theorizes that Darnold didn’t get his blockers holiday gifts.

Adams posted the video to his Instagram story, and would later follow up with some further analysis. It doesn’t last long, due to more uncontrollable laughter, but Adams reveals that gifts were indeed procured. But, judging by the lack of wheels, it doesn’t look like the Jets linemen were fans.

What Darnold lacks in gift giving, he made up for in verbal praise earlier this week. When speaking about the progress he’s made over the past three games, Darnold credited his blockers.

“I feel like I’ve been doing a better job at (the play action),” Darnold said on a Monday conference call. “But I think it’s also a credit to our offensive line, our running backs and our receivers really in the run game. Being able to set up the pass with the run is the biggest thing in that area and I think we’ve been doing a good job at that.”

Fortunately for Darnold, the Jets will be flying to their season finale on Sunday afternoon. Their plane heads to Massachusetts for a showdown with the New England Patriots (1:00 p.m. ET, CBS).
