The Jets Zone

Boy Green spoke with Cleveland Browns Insider Jeff Risdon on “The Jets Zone” to learn the truth on the Josh Gordon situation, what Browns to watch out for on Thursday night, and more.

A few years ago, this Thursday Night Football game between the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns may have been considered a snooze-fest. Not this year.

Despite the Browns not winning a game since 2016, this team is supremely talented and appears ready to burst. With a Browns roster oozing of talent, the Jets have a lot to prepare for.

Offense

  • Antonio Callaway
    • The New York Jets worked out Antonio leading up to the 2018 NFL Draft, but he has a long track record of off the field issues. So far so good in terms of staying relatively clean with the Browns and his explosive ability has been palpable. If the Jets don’t keep their wits about them, this could be a big play waiting to happen.
  • David Njoku
    • The potential is off the charts. He’s got a body chiseled by the gods, but it just hasn’t translated to the field yet. The Cleveland Browns are still waiting for him to ‘get it’, but he’s such a dynamic playmaker. From what I’ve read and seen, he doesn’t contribute much if at all as a blocker, but his prowess in the receiving game can be a difference maker.

Defense

  • Myles Garrett
    • This one is obvious and should be one of the biggest matchups of this game on Thursday Night Football. Myles had an elite first game of the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but was riddled ineffective in the Bayou vs. the New Orleans Saints. Kelvin Beachum has another stiff test in Week 3.
  • Larry Ogunjobi
    • Who? I’ll give you a pass on not recognizing this talent, but the Jets need to make sure they know where he is on defense. The benefit of having a Myles Garrett on a defense is the attention he receives, that means the Browns have other one-on-one matchups that their players can take advantage of. That resulted in Ogunjobi having a three-sack game last week. Big time players make big-time plays.

People call me Boy Green for my unwavering dedication to all things New York Jets. I work at The Score 1260 in Syracuse and I'm extremely passionate about sports. I aspire to continue my rise through the business and hopefully I'll end up working for the New York Jets in some capacity.
