After finalizing the 53-man roster, the New York Jets will work out both kicker Dan Bailey and wideout Breshad Perriman on Monday.

The very same 53-man roster that was finalized on Saturday remains completely intact at the moment. That can all change come Monday afternoon as two veterans are scheduled to make a special Florham Park, New Jersey trip.

According to a source close to ESPN’s Field Yates, the New York Jets will be working out recently-cut Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey—the very same placekicker who still holds the No. 2 career spot with a paltry 88.2 lifetime field goal percentage.

In addition, 2015 first-round selection of the Baltimore Ravens, wide receiver Breshad Perriman, will also work out for the Jets on Monday as first reported by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Bailey, 30, is one of the few surprise cuts over the last few days in the NFL. In fact, most in the know had no idea there was even a kicking competition. Young Brett Maher snuck up from behind gthe veteran and captured the job.

Recently cutting young Taylor Bertlet, Jason Myers is currently the Jets kicker. Based on a body of work, there’s no question that Bailey is the more accomplished professional.

The Oklahoma product has been the Cowboys kicker since signing on as an undrafted free agent all the way back prior to the 2011 season. He’s missed just four games—all coming a season ago.

Perriman, 24, is a completely different story. The former first-round selection of the Ravens has played only 27 games in three seasons. He caught 33 balls for 499 yards and three scores during his rookie campaign, but has literally been stuck in the mud since.

Both Dan Bailey and Breshad Perriman represent excellent possible options for the 53-man roster moving forward. Of course, should things go well for both of them on Monday, Myers will be out of a job as will (most likely Charone Peake should the Jets cut a wideout). A corner, perhaps Juston Burris or Derrick Jones, could also be cut (as seven are on the roster).
