Former New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez will be among the guests to join Mike Francesa as he makes his triumphant return to the airwaves on Tuesday.

Mike Francesa’s return to WFAN on Tuesday afternoon will include a handful of big-name guests: New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, Jay Wright, Villanova’s head men’s basketball coach, and current ESPN Sunday Night Baseball host and former New York Yankees All-Star Alex Rodriguez.

ESPN normally will not let their on-air talent go on competing networks, but in this case, Rodriguez was able to convince them to let him be interviewed by Francesca on his “Mike’s On” show. Rodriguez is scheduled to be on at 3:30 p.m. ET.

When asked about his appearance, the network simply replied: “He is scheduled to appear,” as was reported by Neil Best of Newsday.

During a 2013 appearance with Francesa, Rodriguez flat-out lied about his use of performance-enhancing drugs. The interview went viral at the time, but that didn’t prevent the two from remaining close.

In a surprise announcement last week, Mike Francesa and WFAN confirmed that Francesa would return to the network and would be on air Monday through Friday from 3-to-6:30 p.m. ET.

Last week, Rodriguez told Best that he was “surprised,” “excited” and “thrilled,” about Francesa’s return, adding “I was joking with Mike about what his next big trick is because Mike always has reveals. He wasn’t going to just play golf in Florida.”

Francesca retired from WFAN back in December after being with the station for 30 years and embarking on a lengthy farewell tour. His return to WFAN will include a new mobile app and website, “Mike’s On,” featuring live video streaming of the radio show and an optional subscription tier.

The “Mike’s On” mobile app and website will feature exclusive live video streaming of Francesa’s weekday WFAN radio program, along with “Mike’s Football Sunday,” set to launch beginning with the 2018-19 football season.
