We’ve seen some pretty incredible New York Yankees commercials over the years. However, the latest featuring Didi Gregorius is worthy of Hall of Fame recognition.

Monday, Ronald Torreyes held the spotlight. Tuesday it was Dellin Betances and Aroldis Chapman. Wednesday showed the acting talents of Didi Gregorius.

Guys, if you are going to watch one commercial for the rest of your life, this one would be it. The New York Yankees promo featured Gregorius and his love for emojis and it is visually stunning, not to mention laugh-out-loud hilarious.

I would like to meet the creative geniuses who were behind this idea because it is comedy GOLD! Taking Didi’s famous postgame tweets and turning it into a commercial…I didn’t see it coming. That’s what makes good television.

The commercial essentially tells a whole story in 30 seconds. You have the opening and introduction, showing us who the characters are. While Gregorius is obviously the main character, the supporting cast is just as important with Aaron Hicks, CC Sabathia and Sonny Gray.

After that, we present the problem. Gregorius comes up simply laughing. But why? There is confusion amongst the crew. Why is Didi just sitting there with his infectious smile, laughing away without a care in the world?

Then comes the solution. We see what Didi Gregorius sees, which are his teammates as the emojis he gives them in the postgame tweets. But here’s the real question…is that how Didi sees everyone in real life?

Then comes the conclusion, where the group gets together and all’s well that ends well. Gray and Sabathia have a heart-to-heart conversation about the weather and Sabathia’s hat.

Oh, the humor is all through this short video. But honestly, the Yankees did an incredible job not only with the idea but with the execution.

If this commercial is the third of five, I can’t wait to see the next too. They’ve got big shoes to fill.
