The New York Jets have made it painfully obvious who they like at quarterback (Baker Mayfield). Plus, could new uniforms be on the horizon for gang green?

“In the market for a quarterback, the Jets will be in Oklahoma for a private workout and they will have the Heisman Trophy winner at their facility for a pre-draft visit”, he told Robert Klemko of the MMQB.

Don’t tease me, New York Jets.

In the most recent rendition of my 2018 NFL Mock Draft, I have the Jets taking Mayfield with the sixth overall draft choice.

Although if you’re going to buy the hype around Mayfield, the Jets may need to trade up if they truly have an infatuation with the former Sooner. According to the same report, Mayfield met with 11 teams at the NFL Combine (including the Jets).

That also includes every team ahead of the Jets who have a need at quarterback (Cleveland Browns, New York Giants and the Denver Broncos). While I’d argue the Jets have the inside track, former starting quarterback Chad Pennington has been quite involved

“In the weeks since the Senior Bowl, Mayfield has leaned on former NFL quarterback Chad Pennington as a mentor after the two met in Mobile.”

Perhaps Pennington can guide Mayfield to Broadway. Wishful thinking, I suppose.

Before we all assume Mayfield will be donning green and white this Fall, not so fast.

It seems like former first-round pick Darron Lee is advocating for a Jets jersey change. His twitter poll received nearly 2,000 votes and the results were staggering.

I don’t want to be the Oregon Ducks with 400 different jerseys, but I think the green and white could use an upgrade. The old school Jets jerseys of the 1980s weren’t a bad look. The team should definitely have a black alternate uniform with hints of green throughout, that’s clearly long overdue.

Regardless of what the jersey looks like this Fall for the Jets, it does seem like a lock that this team will be improved with eight picks and $90 million in cap space this offseason.

One last nugget to chew on brings us to Big Mo as Muhammad Wilkerson is leaving Green Bay without a deal. Next stop?

Mardi Gras to visit the New Orleans Saints.

People call me Boy Green for my unwavering dedication to all things New York Jets. I work at The Score 1260 in Syracuse and I'm extremely passionate about sports. I aspire to continue my rise through the business and hopefully I'll end up working for the New York Jets in some capacity.
