Despite his season-ending injury, New York Knicks’ Kristaps Porzingis is sending some help to his would-be NBA All-Star Game teammates.

New York Knicks forward, Kristaps Porzingis won’t be able to suit up and play in his first All-Star Game this season, but he still has his teammates in mind. According to Zing Bar officials, KP is sending each of his teammates on Team LeBron a “KP6 Porzingis Box” with his brand of nutritional bars. This is a nice gesture from Porzingis all things considered, but it’s also not the worst way to get some publicity for the Zing Bar brand.

Kristaps Porzingis said in a statement:

“I won’t be playing this year, but wanted to send a little ZING to my fellow All-Stars to let them know I will be there in spirit”

According to Marc Berman of the NY Post, Porzingis had originally planned to give out these bars to his fellow All-Stars but had some doubts about the gesture following his season-ending ACL tear. Unfortunately, his teammates will have to settle for nutrition bars instead of an elite rim protector.

It’s unfortunate that KP’s season is over, but he’s handling everything in all the right ways. Instead of sulking, he’s keeping a positive attitude. It helps that former teammates like Carmelo Anthony are reaching out and offering words of encouragement. It’s no secret that Porzingis has gained the respect of the best players around the league.

KP should keep eating those Zing Bars as he works his way back towards a full recovery. Unfortunately, the road to recovery is sure to be long and time-consuming, but there’s no doubt that the Knicks and KP will make sure they are giving him all the time he needs to get back to full health.

He’ll have to mail his Zing Bars to this year’s All-Star Game, but he’ll get another chance to deliver them personally.
