The New York Jets are ready for the 2018 offseason to commence. We got media opportunities with the acting owner, Mike Maccagnan, and more to discuss the future.

I hope New York Jets fans brought those dollar bills because general manager Mike Maccagnan confirmed that the Jets are going to make it rain this offseason! Here’s more of what he had to say via the Jets Twitter account:

The message this year is a lot different than last season when the Jets were talking about things like progress and development. This year, this team has eyes on the postseason and rightfully so.

This team is in a perfect position to flip the script with premium picks and a boatload of cash to light on fire.

Although another Maccagnan quote I want to get to is, “we were competitive in a lot of those games” this past season. While that’s true, we don’t want to get too enthralled by winning five games. The moral cookie argument is starting to rear its ugly head.

This team did overachieve this year, but that can’t be a satisfactory feeling. This team needs to turn it around. Seven years without a playoff appearance simply isn’t acceptable.

New York Jets acting owner Christopher Johnson spoke to the media. Here are his comments, via the Jets Twitter account:

That’s another reiteration that the Jets are going to be very active in free agency, so get ready for fireworks in March, Jets fans! Which should lead to a very exciting offseason for the green and white.

What happens in free agency will set the tone for what happens in April with the 2018 NFL Draft. One thing is assured: The Jets will have a new starting quarterback in 2018 and that should be music to the ears of Jets fans everywhere!
