A New York Jets legend is getting off the couch to return to the gridiron. Does Mike Westhoff still have it?

Trivia time!

When’s the last time the New York Jets had a punt or kickoff returned for a touchdown?

Ding, ding, ding! Time’s up. Did you guess 2012?

Fun fact: did you know that 2012 was also the last time Mike Westhoff was with the Jets. Coincidence? I think not.

Well, the NFL is in luck because Westhoff is back in the big leagues, just not with the Gang Green. Instead, he’s decided to take his talents to the Big Easy.

New Orleans Saints NFL Nation Reporter (that’s a mouthful and a half) Mike Triplett shared more info on this partnership above. This isn’t a minimal role nor will he possess the title of special teams coordinator. According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, the job title will remain unclear, but what is clear is he was already at Saints practice this week.

The New Orleans Saints are currently on a seven-game winning streak and with that are the hottest team in football. The defense has played exceptional, the two headed monster is leading the offense, and Westhoff could be the final piece to the Super Bowl puzzle.

People call me Boy Green for my unwavering dedication to all things New York Jets. I work at The Score 1260 in Syracuse and I'm extremely passionate about sports. I aspire to continue my rise through the business and hopefully I'll end up working for the New York Jets in some capacity.
