What Happened To Tradition? Nike Unveils Questionable Team USA Hockey Jersey

Sometimes no change is a good thing, but Nike decided to go with a new style USA Hockey jersey that leaves a lot to be desired.

NHL players will not be participating in the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea. That may be a good thing after Nike introduced their new Team USA Hockey Jersey with the games being 100 days form their start (photo above).

What a disappointment for USA hockey fans.

Not sure what look Nike was going for here, but I can tell you they missed their mark. Gone are the traditional colors and layout of the traditional USA jersey. Nike went with nothing on the waist or on the collar and all but eliminated the red regularly seen on a USA jersey. Not sure why they would go this far away from what the teams have worn in the past Olympics, but I for one am not a fan of it. The baby blue version is the worse of the three shown.

Herb Brooks must be looking down from above wondering how the USA Jersey worn by the players on the 1980 Miracle on Ice team now looks more like a Monster Energy Supercross event.
