Sports Illustrated’s Ben Reiter, who predicted the Houston Astros’ 2017 World Series win in 2014, predicts a 2020 title for the Yankees.

After coming within one game of the World Series in 2017, it would stand to reason that the New York Yankees would be considered a favorite to reach the Fall Classic in 2018.

But simply reaching the World Series has never been enough for the Yanks. It’s all about the rings. That next ring, according to Ben Reiter, who famously predicted the Astros as your 2017 World Series champions on the cover of Sports Illustrated back in 2014, will arrive in 2020.

With a core of Baby Bombers that includes Greg Bird, Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez and Luis Severino—a group that is only going to get better in the years to come—it’s hard to argue against Reiter’s powers of prediction.

That’s especially true if you believe that the Yankees are going to add an impact free agent in the next few years, whether it be Washington’s Bryce Harper, Baltimore’s Manny Machado or both.

The Yankees, of course, would love nothing more than to prove Reiter wrong—and win it all in 2018.
