WFAN Host Craig Carton Arrested On Fraud Charges (Report)

Craig Carton, former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason‘s longtime running mate on New York airwaves, has been silenced—for now.

According to multiple reports, Craig Carton, co-host of WFAN 660 AM’s “Boomer and Carton Show,” was arrested by the FBI at his New York City home Wednesday morning.

While multiple reports have described the charges as being related to “white collar crime,” sources with the Federal Bureau of Investigation gave WPIX’s Anthony DiLorenzo more specifics about what the polarizing broadcaster was being charged with.

CBS, which owns WFAN, provided DiLorenzo with the following statement on the situation: “At this point [in time] we are going to cooperate with authorities and we have nothing further to add.”

Carton, who has been Esiason’s co-host since 2007, has long been considered a polarizing figure on New York airwaves. Listeners either love him or hate him—there’s no middle ground. The same goes for his co-workers at the station, with the legendary Mike Francesca an open critic of the 48-year-old.

While Carton is facing serious charges—anytime the FBI is involved things have taken a serious turn—some on Twitter couldn’t help but have some fun with Carton and Francesca.
