The New York Jets picked up a safety with as good a name as you can imagine for this team — Armagedon Draughn.

The New York Jets thought they were announcing a minor roster move via their official team Twitter account on Monday morning. The team signed a safety from the CFL no one had ever heard of. The reason it’s news is his unique name: Armagedon Draughn.

Twitter, always looking to jump on the tanking Jets anyway, had a field day with this one. A guy with the name Armagedon on a team who could go 0-16. That’s fitting, right?

Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report jokes about where you might hear a name like that in the movies.

Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network struggled to find the right joke before realizing how easy it was.

The Jets are still the punchline. It’s easy for that to happen when everyone thinks you’re walking into a season hoping to lose games.

Jetnation says that Draughn will compete for a spot on the depth chart due to injuries at the position. Devon Still was let go in a corresponding move.
