Jose Canseco decided to come out of nowhere to take a shot at New York Yankees rookie right fielder Aaron Judge.

Here’s what you probably didn’t expect to hear today: Jose Canseco just delivered a low-blow to Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees.

In a tweet, the former slugger and six-time All-Star “bet” that he could hit a softball farther than the current home run derby champion can hit a baseball despite being 53 years of age. Oh boy.

Canseco played 17 seasons in the majors with the Oakland Athletics, Texas Rangers, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Boston Red Sox, Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. He owns 462 career home runs and certainly some moon shots that would probably break StatCast today.

He also admitted in the book “Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant ‘Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big” to using anabolic steroids. So, put an asterisk on all his accomplishments.

You also shouldn’t forget that he was arrested for reckless driving, charged with aggravated battery for allegedly ramming his then-wife Esther’s BMW with his Porsche and charged with two counts of aggravated battery beating two California tourists at a Miami Beach nightclub.

Knowing the well-spoken and highly-regarded young man Judge has become on the stage of New York, a comparison like this is almost laughable without even considering that a 53-year-old just said he could hit a softball further than Judge, who has hit a home run 495 feet this season.

Sorry, Jose. But here’s a helping hand: watch the video down below and rethink your ridiculous Tweet.
