Pouring salt into the Jets’ fan’s wound, Brandon Marshall posts on Twitter a photo of his new contract with the New York Giants.
Well, this one has to sting New York Jets fans (tweet above). Newly-minted New York Giants wideout Brandon Marshall adds salt to the Jets’ fan’s fresh wound with a tweet of the signed deal.
Just a season ago, B-Marsh was in the midst of a monstrous 109-catch, 1,502-yard, 14-touchdown campaign for Gang Green. Now the NYJ faithful will have to watch their former star coordinate end-zone celebrations with Odell Beckham Jr. with the New York Giants.
As of now, the future looks bleak for the Jets. The Giants now currently have the undisputed two best wideouts in the state of New York, with Sterling Shepard possessing the potential in his sophomore season to challenge Eric Decker for the third best designation.
While it’ll be full rebuild mode in 2017 for the Jets, the neighboring Giants will continue to build toward their Super Bowl aspirations.
The two New York City rivals will meet once next year, in the annual preseason “Snoopy Bowl.” However, even if the Jets do take that victory, it’ll mean a little less if by year’s end they’re off golfing while the Giants are playing postseason football.
