St. John’s youngster Marcus LoVett was recognized with his second-straight Big East Freshman of the Week award.
St. John’s freshman Marcus LoVett keeps on impressing on the court and the Big East continues to take notice.After winning the honor last week, LoVett won the Big East Freshman of the Year honor, once again, this week, for the second straight time.
He earned it after scoring a game-high 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field while also dishing out six assists, grabbing five rebounds and also with five steals in a 78-70 win over Seton Hall. He did it also by coming off the bench which makes his all-around performance even more impressive.
He is now averaging 17.3 ppg which is the highest among freshmen in the Big East and also fifth overall in the league.
LoVett continues to excite St. John’s fans with his ball handling, shooting, ability to drive in the lane and his improved playmaking. He is a special player who could be the next St. John’s great and winning back to back Big East Freshman of the Week honors certainly won’t hurt that case.
