New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis is going to be active at All-Star Weekend after agreeing to compete in the Skills Challenge.
Kristaps Porzingis will be busy during NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans. The New York Knicks forward was already selected for this year’s Rising Stars Challenge, for the second straight season, but he’s not stopping there.
According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, the sophomore star has committed to participate in the Skills Challenge. Seven-footer Karl-Anthony Towns won the challenge last season. Porzingis would be the tallest winner at 7-foot-3.

The 21-year-old is already a star in New York, but a strong showing at All-Star Weekend would make a big impression on the entire league.
Porzingis had a brutal January (so did the Knicks) that saw him shoot only 29.3 percent from three-point range and post per game averages of 13.9 points and 4.3 rebounds in 10 games. His strong performance on Wednesday was a good start, but a stellar All-Star weekend in front of the league’s best would be a huge confidence boost.
