New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis was selected for the Rising Stars Challenge during NBA All-Star Weekend.

The New York Knicks will have at least one representative during NBA All-Star Weekend. Carmelo Anthony‘s status is still unknown (ASG reserves announced Thursday), but Kristaps Porzingis will play for the second straight season in the Rising Stars Challenge.

The Rising Stars Challenge is an All-Star game for the young players. It involves rookies and sophomores strictly, and the sides are chosen with the American players on one team and the International players on the other.

Like the All-Star game, nobody plays defense. Porzingis was one of three players who dropped 30 points in last year’s game. Zach LaVine and Emmanuel Mudiay were the other two.

This may not seem like a big deal, but with the way Porzingis is shooting the ball right now, it could do him some good to see the ball go through the net. Even during a meaningless exhibition.
