On Sunday morning, the world woke up to devastating news that Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura was killed in a car accident.
The entire baseball world lost another member on Sunday when news came out that Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Yordano Ventura was killed early Sunday morning in a tragic car accident.
In response to the devastating event, fans of Ventura and the Royals arrived early in the morning to the Royals home of Kauffman Stadium to mourn the passing of their ace.
“I feel a lot of sadness because they were friends of mine. I’m sending my condolences to their families. The whole baseball world is in mourning,” Miguel Cabrera told ESPN.
The New York Yankees also released a statement on their public relations Twitter account which sent their condolences to the families of both Ventura and Andy Marte.
The Yankees are saddened to learn of the passing of Yordano Ventura and Andy Marte. Our deepest condolences to their families and friends.

The New York Mets also sent out a tweet on their official page which expressed their sympathy for the passing and sent condolences to the respective families.

Other athletes also expressed their sympathy and mourned the passing of the Dominican-born star on social media on Sunday which included the likes of Robinson Cano, Bryce Harper and Mike Trout.
