One of the most storied rivalries in sports history between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox could be taking their feud overseas.

The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox have been going at it against each other for over 100 years where all of the games have been played in either Boston or New York.

With the new collective bargaining agreement, we could see this rivalry head to Europe for a series as soon as 2018.

The new CBA that was recently agreed upon has stated that MLB has agreed to play in multiple international destinations with London being one of the locations named.

Boston and New York have clearly been the teams that MLB has mentioned sending because they are two of the most well-known teams in the league and could spark interest in the sport in London.

“The Yankees have been at the forefront of suggesting that we bring the great game of baseball to London,” said Yankees president Randy Levine in an email. “There have been some meaningful attempts to do so, and we are hopeful and confident that we can play there soon. Playing the Red Sox in London would be a special and unique event.”

The decision to bring this matchup to London is not currently imminent, but it is possible and could happen as soon as the 2018 season.
