ESPN wasted no time releasing their trailer for the upcoming 30 for 30 documentary “This Was The XFL.”

The XFL was something else — a football league founded by Vince McMahon which was aiming to compete with the NFL and break boundaries. It turned out to be the definition of a colossal failure, which is why ESPN has decided to make a documentary on its short-lived run.

The XFL only lasted one season with eight teams and turned out to be very memorable for all of the wrong reasons. It included a player who wore a jersey with “He Hate Me” on the back, cheerleaders who did not leave much to be desired, and skits involving many of the players.

Few could say they actually enjoyed watching XFL games but, love it or hate it, you will surely want to tune into ESPN in February to relive the life and death of this infamous football league.
