History
Historically speaking, the San Francisco 49ers have owned the New York Jets. This will be the 13th time these two squads will handle business together on the gridiron, and the 49ers have won 10 out of the 12 games played.
Last time the Jets and 49ers got together, Colin Kaepernick was making his debut. Much like the way he plays now, Colin Kaepernick did not impress anyone through the air (0-1), but did rush the ball five times for 50 yards and a touchdown back in week four of the 2012 season.
It has actually been a little over 12 years since the Jets have pulled off a victory against the 49ers. Chad Pennington and the Jets pulled off the come-from-behind victory thanks to two fourth quarter Curtis Martin touchdowns.
Yeah, it’s been that long.
Have to go back even further to find the last time the New York Jets picked up a victory with the 49ers being the home team. The last time that happened was in 1983 at Candlestick Park.
San Francisco has outscored the Jets in the all-time series 296-198.
