1B – Mark Teixeira
Teixeira has always played the game with a lot of emotion. In 2011, Teixeira was hit by Fausto Carmona and a benches-clearing brawl ensued.
In 2012, Tex had a well-publicized dispute with Red Sox reliever Vicente Padilla. He was angry that Padilla continued to throw guys inside and accused him of trying to hit batters. The jabs continued to fly back and forth.
In 2015, Teixeira threw some verbal jabs at his third base coach, Joe Espada, after his indecision caused him to be thrown out at the plate by Leonys Martin.
Earlier this season, Teixeira got quite heated in a game versus the Mets. Tex was hit by a wild pitch from Steven Matz, the first one he saw after hitting a three-run home run. He got heated thereafter and the benches cleared, although nothing came of it.
Later in the game, he began to play with Mets reliever Hansel Robles. Robles thought that Teixeira was stealing his signs and began to get angry. He proceeded to toy with the young pitcher, mocking him from second base.
