After Ryan Fitzpatrick and the New York Jets finally agreed to terms yesterday, wide receiver Brandon Marshall took it to twitter to display his excitement.
Not only do the Jets get a veteran leader in Ryan Fitzpatrick, but they get someone who will give their talented wide receiving core the best chance to succeed and ultimately win.
Brandon Marshall — who said he would retire following the expiration of his Jets contract — would be the first person to tell you he wants to win now. Coming off a monstrous 1,502 yard season which saw him total 109 receptions, him and his quarterback, Fizpatrick, were fun to watch by the end of the season.
They knew each other’s tendencies and did not hesitate when trying to execute a big play. With that said, it is no wonder why Marshall is ecstatic to have him under center for the 2016-2017 season.
The picture he put on Twitter is perhaps one of the more priceless images you will see. Displaying the core of the Jets team all with smiles on their faces, it was fitting for the night they were handed a huge piece to the puzzle.
