New York Yankees

With recent reports stating that New York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman was close to being dealt, it appears as if now is not the time to get your hopes up.

According to Jack Curry of the YES Network, “nothing is imminent” with regards to a potential Aroldis Chapman trade.

With the front office currently trying to shape offers, all signs pointed to a deal coming as soon as the next day or so. Well, hang tight Yankee fans.

The August 1 trade deadline is exactly one week from tomorrow, and according to Curry, ownership has not declared themselves as ‘sellers’.

With the current state of mediocrity, it would make logical sense that selling is the correct call. However, Hal Steinbrenner seems to somehow believe that the position his team lies in is acceptable.

Buckle your seat belts. A week of either scrutiny or praise is about to get underway.
