New York Jets WR Eric Decker Clears Air On OTAs Absence

Despite many columnists connecting the dots that Eric Decker didn’t show for New York Jets OTAs as protest for Fitz, he’s now denied it.

The man has spoken, and thus, many columnists and major media outlets need to start back-peddling.

According to Kimberley Martin of Newsday, New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker didn’t miss OTAs due to a Ryan Fitzpatrick protest. Instead – as others have speculated – Decker explained that he missed the week due to vacationing with his wife.

What’s interesting to note is Decker allowed journalists to run with the story that he was, indeed, protesting the fact Fitzpatrick hadn’t been signed yet. We, here, pushed along that report as well.

We called it an “intentionally soft stance” in thinking Decker didn’t mind the public believing whatever they wanted to believe.

On one hand he could continue vacationing with his wife with Todd Bowles knowing his reason for why he didn’t attend, and on the other hand the public would continue to push the Fitzpatrick story in hopes he was indirectly doing a solid for his buddy who’s looking to cash in.

Now, thanks to Decker’s words, all of this hysteria is over.
