New York Jets

Although the Los Angeles Rams wound up snagging it, New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan admitted he did inquire about the top pick.

To trade or not to trade. That is the question.

Well, not anymore, for the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles both worked out blockbuster deals in giving up the farm for the No. 1 and No. 2 picks respectively in next week’s NFL Draft.

Not anymore as it relates to the New York Jets.

We now know Gang Green was at least semi-interested in trading up into the top spot of the draft. General manager Mike Maccagnan said as much on Friday when asked whether the idea was a possibility, prior to the Rams snagging the spo.

“The short answer is yes,” Maccagnan said Friday at his pre-draft press conference. “The short answer is we inquired,” via Seth Walder of the New York Daily News.

Now that both Carson Wentz and Jared Goff are certainties to be heading to L.A. and Philadelphia, the priority remains working out a way to get Ryan Fitzpatrick back into the fold.
