With Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant in Charlotte tonight for the last time in his NBA career, Hornets owner Michael Jordan made sure to say something.

The Kobe Bryant retirement tour continues.

Tonight, as Kobe’s Los Angeles Lakers visit Charlotte to take on the Hornets, somebody made sure to make Bryant’s night a memorable one.

None other than Michael Jordan gave this farewell message prior to the announcing of the starting lineups (video above).

It’s widely known Bryant and Jordan communicate personally. How much they do has always been a question, but one thing’s for sure: Kobe has always admired No. 23.

The extra wrinkle thrown in by MJ was the fact that the Hornets, not the Lakers, was the organization to actually draft Bryant as he came straight from high school.
