Todd Bowles and the New York Jets have now matched their entire 2014 win total with a 34-20 victory over the Washington Redskins today.

Although the first have took some convincing, the way the New York Jets played in the second half left no doubt.
A 34-20 count was the final score from Met Life Stadium today as Todd Bowles’s Jets disposed of the Washington Redskins to improve to 4-1 on the season. They have now already matched their win total from the entire 2014 NFL season.

In fact, Washington held a slim 13-10 lead heading into halftime. Although they kept force-feeding the man, Chris Ivory and the Jets running game couldn’t get things going early on. The Skins loaded the box at almost every turn.
Finally, however, the second half came and Chan Gailey allowed Ryan Fitzpatrick to do his thing. With some help from Brandon Marshall the Jets started pouring on the points.
A 17-point third quarter was highlighted by a B-Marsh 35-yard touchdown pass on a throw that had no business of being complete:
The Jets gave up a 5th-round pick to get Brandon Marshall this offseason.

The other TD came on a Fitzpatrick 18-yard run. To say his eyes were lit up with excitement afterwards would be a heavy understatement:
FACT: If you guard all of Ryan Fitzpatrick's WRs, he will turn into a RB and run it 18 yards for a TD. #WASvsNYJ http://t.co/OTR2sOS0zh

Fitzpatrick finished the day 19-of-26 for 256 yards and 2 TD. His passing in the second half opened the game up for Ivory to plow ahead for 146 yards and a TD on an even 20 carries. His long went for 54:
Brandon Marshall said that Chris Ivory is the best RB in the NFL.
After this 49-yard run…hard to argue #WASvsNYJ http://t.co/o03iJVJQiY

The Jets are now 4-1, only a .5 game behind the New England Patriots who’ll play in Indianapolis later tonight.
