Joe Girardi Loses His Mind On Umpire In Loss (Video)There’s a long list of national treasures throughout the incredible history of Major League Baseball.

Names such as Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and Hank Aaron come to mind. Another is former Baltimore Orioles manager Earl Weaver, for his personality and maddening anger with the games umpires simply became classic.

On Thursday night, New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi decided to whip out his best Earl Weaver imitation – as he looks to add his name to the national treasure list.

In the ninth-inning of the Yankees 3-2 loss to the Cleveland Indians, Girardi had just about enough of home plate umpire Dan Iassogna’s strike zone. It first started in the bottom of the eighth with Jacoby Ellsbury striking out on a backdoor slider which Girardi felt was way off the plate.

The tipping point was reached in the ninth when Brian McCann was called out looking. Before Girardi could even calmly come out of the dugout to have a chat, Iassogna gave him the old heave-ho.

Via ESPN:

“He threw me out before I even said something, so what if I was going to say, ‘What was the conversation [with McCann?],’ I don’t think that is right either,” Girardi said. “If I say something first, that’s different.”

Once he was thrown out, he put on a display for the Yankee Stadium home crowd.
